Uncovering hidden gems

8 January 2026 |

Dive for “treasure” at luxury Maldives resort Baros for a chance to win the ultimate stay on our idyllic island

At Baros Maldives, we know that true luxury goes beyond opulent villas and breathtaking sunsets (though we certainly have those in abundance).

Real luxury is what happens when you experience something special: a thoughtful note when you arrive at your Baros villa after a long journey, a refreshing towel infused with the citrussy scent of Muelhens No 4711 Original Eau De Cologne handed to you as you sit down to dinner, a kind gesture from your butler who places your slippers beside your bed during turn down service.

A season of renewal at Baros

Easter is synonymous with rejuvenation – and there’s no better place to experience this than on the idyllic island of Baros. From the moment you arrive, you’re immersed in a tranquil oasis that beckons you to unwind and recharge.

Our team has curated a special 2025 Easter programme, from Good Friday on 18 April until Easter Monday on 21 April. A Whimsical Easter at Baros [link to programme] is filled with bespoke experiences to make your celebration unforgettable. Whether you’re seeking quiet moments of serenity or adventurous activities, Baros caters to all, offering a truly personalised Easter escape.

When and where to join the quest

Every Friday for 45 minutes our inner lagoon transforms into a playground for discovery. The designated treasure zone stretches between two signposted points of our magnificent house reef, nestled safely between the shore and the protective boundary wall.

This means clear, shallow waters perfect for easy and enjoyable exploration, no matter your snorkelling experience. You can join the hunt from anywhere on the island, directly from the comfort of your villa, or simply by strolling down to Palm Garden Beach, our designated meeting point.

The thrill of the find

The objective is simple yet exciting: locate, collect and return one of the 10 specially numbered Baros Treasures hidden among the coral formations. Each week, one lucky treasure will bear the winning number, and the finder will be instantly rewarded with a fantastic prize voucher.

What to expect (and how to play fair)

While the hunt is unsupervised, it is designed to be a safe and enjoyable experience for all. We will have committee members present at Palm Garden 15 minutes before the start to welcome you and answer any questions.

They will also be monitoring the area throughout the 45-minute timeframe, ensuring fair play and announcing when the hunt concludes.

Here are a few gentle guidelines to ensure everyone has a memorable time:

  • One treasure per person: each participant can collect a maximum of one Baros Treasure within the allotted 45 minutes. Any treasure found outside this timeframe will be deemed invalid.
  • Validation is key: once you have found your treasure, return it to the organising committee for validation. Only one of the 10 hidden treasures will be a winning treasure.
  • Respect our reef: standing on the reef or live corals is strictly prohibited. Our vibrant marine ecosystem is a precious gift, and we ask for your help in preserving its beauty.
  • Safety first: while open to all levels, non-swimmers and those requiring in-water assistance are kindly requested to refrain from participating. For inexperienced snorkellers, wearing a life vest is highly recommended. Do not worry about equipment – you can collect your mask, fins, and snorkel (and life vest, if needed) from the Marine and Dive Centre before the event.

Prizes beyond your wildest dreams

Now for the truly exciting part: the prizes. Each week, the lucky finder of the Baros Treasure with the winning number will walk away with an incredible experience or treat. Our weekly prizes are designed to enhance your Baros stay and create even more cherished memories.

And it doesn’t end there. At the end of this year-long event, in June 2026, we will hold an exclusive raffle among all our Baros Treasure winners. The grand prize? A free stay in Baros for two, with return flights covered. Imagine returning to paradise, all expenses paid, simply by finding a treasure in our sparkling lagoon.

A Baros moment you will treasure

The Baros Treasure Hunt is our invitation to connect with the incredible natural beauty of the Maldives in a playful and engaging way. It’s about sharing laughter with loved ones, the thrill of discovery and the joy of being part of our vibrant Baros home.
